| good memories are still good memories no matter the pain that comes before or after.... imoh iniakpaniko |
It was a hot
Tuesday afternoon and all I could think of was rest. My head was pounding and
my back pain did no justice to my exhausted feeling. In a bid to up lift my sad
drowning self I prowled myself into some supposed work on my laptop.
Guess what it
was? Linda Ikeji. Believe it or not at this point I was seriously working lol!
It didn’t last
long and my lap top began to act up again...I mean sometimes, a bad laptop can
be a girl’s worst nightmare (just saying). I had tried all the tricks I knew in
my genius brain to fix it but to no avail.
Now, my laptop
wasn’t working anymore, my head was pounding and my stomach already nauseated,
I called a friend I had not called in almost a year.
Yeah! A yeah!
funny right?
Well for some
reason I felt I should call him to help with my laptop. I know, I know am so
selfish and inconsiderate but what can a girl do? I have been paralysed from
doing any meaningful work on my lap top and pride was not going to get in the
way…hehehehehe!
Okay, I called Isaac
and to my surprise he actually replied in a nice tone
“Yes! Imoh how
are you doing”...
“I am doing well”
“So what’s
up”…he says
“Well my laptop
has some issues and I was wondering if you could help me with some software”…I
shamelessly replied
“Imoh! It’s been
like forever since you called me and when you do, it’s because you need my
help?”… He said with a disappointing tone
“well I decided
to give you some space since we’ve been having some issues and I felt it was
best to call only if I needed to”….yep! I said those words *closing my eyes*
Now to my
delightful surprise Isaac actually agreed to help. In 30 minutes I was at his
point of work and not only did he help me with my laptop he also bought me a
nice refreshing meal (yeah! Such guys still exist).
Here I am
thinking “why did I break up with you again”...lol!
After a long day
of trying to install some software he concluded that formatting was the final
resort and even installed all the software I needed in the laptop. This guy
must be an angel. I mean where did he come from?
Mean while I met
one of my other ex boyfriends whom I had asked to assist me with this my same
laptop, not only did he not do anything, he cried into my ears the favour he
had just done for me. Guess what he did? He helped me defragment and scan my
laptop.
Here I am
thinking,” How in God’s name did I date this guy in the past”
This just got to
me think, that no matter how time passes, people will never change. They might
seem better or even act better but the saying that old habits die hard is
really true. In time I have re-dated one or two or my ex-boyfriends simply
because I felt they might have changed. Or was I just deceiving myself? I guess
so.
So if you have
an asshole as a boyfriend, please feel free to drop him like its hot cause baby he
ain’t going to change. But if you’re still hoping to change him, please be my
guest, don’t worry I’ll be here to encourage you and help you dry your tears or
better still rejoice with you if he ever changes.
well until next article, live life and love life.....cheers!!
Regards,
Imoh Iniakpaniko
